My partner and I have been very excited to start this speech and begin to teach the class how to lobster trap. To start, we put together a pretty detailed outline of what we want to say and talk about and we also divided up what props we each need to bring. At the end of class we exchanged numbers so that we could keep in touch and plan different times to meet up and talk through our presentation. A challenge we have run into is reaching the time limit and speaking without looking at the outline so to overcome that we just need to practice a few more times. It’s helpful that this is a skill that we both know so it’s less of a memorization thing and more of just getting comfortable in front of the class and speaking smoothly. Another challenge is the props, since they are so large and bulky it’s kind of hard to practice with them casually since no one wants to carry around a lobster trap all day. A good thing is that we are both hardworking and willing to get this speech done correctly so we have found success in making time to meet each other and practicing when we can. We also have each done our share of looking over our outline to practice even when we are not meeting up.
