One of the first best pieces of advice I received was to work on eye contact and tone, I was told this after my first time reading my speech. Then the second time after reading my speech the same person told me my eye contact and tone was already improving and that I sounded more confident already. I think this is pretty basic advice that can also be really helpful because sometimes we don’t hear our tone when we talk as much as other people do. Another good piece of advice I received was to introduce myself and my topic. Again, another basic thing that totally slipped my mind yet can make such a difference when you are talking to an audience.
