Journal 17:
I had my piece workshopped today along with workshopping two others. I thought the conversations we had today were very helpful for everyone, and I found advice in words that were not even said about my piece. It seemed like something that was a common theme for all three of us was little grammatical details or giving a little bit more additional context for our writing. I think these things should be easy fixes for all of us once we sit down and decide to revise our pieces. One thing that Jesse said was that we were making copy editor edits (I think that’s what it was) and I think that shows growth in all of us as students as we become more comfortable vocalizing what we are thinking. Despite saying that I am not sure if I made any critique comments today, I think that my comments were more compliments for the most part. One thing that all three of us also had were good titles (if I am allowed to say that about myself). So shout out to that. As usual this workshop was very helpful and I think that going forward they will continue to be helpful for the writers along with the editors.
