This article is about a victim of assault and it was written by Lauren Ashe. I would consider this article to be hard news for the NYU student audience because it is important for them to hear about these cases of assault that are going by unnoticed. The article talks about how three passersby were struck while walking and once brought to security they were told that this incident did not reach the requirements to be a university wide alert. The victim brought this to social media to raise awareness of what had happened and eventually campus security did alert the university. They were unable to give really any details of what happened since they did not properly report the event and they also shared way too late. When they tried to file a police report they were told that the police would probably not take action since there was no serious injury, but they are still going to try and file one anyways.

The-unpalatable-reality-of-nyu-dining

This article is about the dining experience at NYU and it was written by Aditi Sharma. This article starts off by mentioning how there are many dietary restrictions amongst students these days, and that the dining hall can’t always conform to those restrictions. They interview a student who is a pescatiraion and she describes the food as bland and repetitive. Having the same limited options is not beneficial to these students , they pay so much to go to this school and they can end up lacking the nutrition they need if they don’t eat properly. As the article nears its end it talks about how hard NYU is working to upgrade their dining options though. They have added things to the dining halls such as plant based protein, vegan dressings and vegan/vegetarian sandwiches. Since all students, no matter what their diet, deserve a proper meal plan, writer Sharma believes that a little bit of student input could help improve the dining hall experience for everyone.
