Journal #6:
Lede- In this article, Gifts That Keep Giving to University, Planet, I would say that the lead is the words that are in slightly bigger font than the rest of the article, “Half of $10 million investment supports solar panel initiative; energy cost savings will be reinvested into campus sustainability plan.” This is a pretty good lead because it does the job of highlighting what the article is going to entail.
Angle- The angle, or point of view of this article is from the eyes of husband and wife, Jeff and Tina Bird. Both of them have careers in STEM and they are trying to heal the planet and see changes at the university.
People interviewed/use quotes- This article has a lot of quotes and they do a good job incorporating them. The quotes in this article are from Jeff, Tina or Micheal Krautkramer (mentioned in the beginning of the article also.) I guess you could say the quotes are a little biased since they are only from people supporting this decision but it still works.
Context/backstory- There is context and backstory, it is shared in the beginning kind of when the article talks about who Jeff and Tina are.
Storytelling techniques- I’d say this story is pretty informative, it’s telling us what’s going on and using sources, not as much a conversation.
