Framing statement

I think an outcome that I have achieved is outcome #8 which was to engage in well-being practices reflective of a healthy collegiate lifestyle. I would say that doing this would entail coming up with a routine and being able to keep the different aspects of your life balanced. At first this was hard for me to do since I didn’t even have a planner, but as time went on I was able to find time to do homework and have a social life. I’m not going to include all of my audio journals but if you were to listen to them you could see the growth from the beginning. For example in the earlier ones I talk about wanting to meet people and stay on top of things and in the later ones I talk about liking the people I’ve met and being proud of myself for getting things done. Another example of me creating my college lifestyle could be my writing in project 2. Finding something I would like to pursue in the future or as a major is very college of me and not something I thought I would find so early.

I think that an outcome that has been and still is more difficult for me has been outcome #2 which is reading complex texts for their implications and applications. Some of the pieces we read I was able to understand, such as the earlier ones like Dweck and Boyer. Those ones made sense to me and I was able to incorporate them into my work. Not all of them were that easy though and the book we had to read for this class, Between the World and Me kind of went right over my head. When we talked about it in class I was able to understand it but it was definitely hard for me to sit down and read it. As you look back at some of my homework answers (or lack thereof) you can probably tell that I didn’t always understand the question right away or know how to properly answer.
