Student outcome #5: (Document work MLA) This learning outcome is focused on the ability to integrate quotes in a sentence and include a properly formatted Works Cited list at the end of a paper. (Word count 182).
I have been writing using MLA format for all my English classes but shockingly enough I have not always had to cite my sources in the past. Even when I did cite my sources, which was a rare occurrence, I can assure you that I was not doing it correctly. This year after taking this course and with the help of the little seagull handbook, I think I can say I have learned how to properly format my essay.

The picture above is the type of format we have been using this semester to cite our sources and it is a lot more detailed than I was used to before college. I honestly can’t say that I remember all the steps to do it by heart but good thing I bought that trusty handbook to help me, I’ll be taking that thing to the grave.

In all seriousness, my ability to properly format my work has gotten a lot better which has made my papers now look more formal and put together.
