I actually liked our first college experience of peer review. The comments my partner, Jacob, made were helpful and appreciated. A good example would be that it’s Meghan Phelps ROPER and throughout my whole essay I wrote Meghan Phelps ROGER so that would have been kind of embarrassing to submit if Jacob had not noticed that for me. Some other comments I got were to switch a few things to maybe make my writing sound a little more professional, which I will look into doing.
I also thought it was helpful to have a paper with guidelines of what we should notice when making edits and that made it easier to add comments. I like having people mark up my work (respectfully) so I wouldn’t have minded if Jacob had made a few more comments. A few good things I noticed while editing Jacobs’ work was that he had very detailed writing and his paragraphs were on the shorter side but he had a lot of them. No more 5 paragraph essays, how fun!
