Something that stuck out to me about this workshop was that it was literally only four of us. That has nothing to do with writing but for some reason I thought it was going to be like a big class. Anyways though I thought the workshop was actually helpful, more helpful than I was expecting. When the other students and I mentioned having trouble with all the reading we are being assigned and retaining the knowledge, he gave us a few different ways to go about reading the articles. He told us about how the most important part of a reading is the beginning and the end and when he told us to try skimming like that we were all able to bring out the important points of the reading. For the cases in which we need to kind of get a deeper understanding of the readings he also set up a few charts that we could use and fill out. Overall, it went by quicker than I expected and I feel like I will be using things that I heard during it.
