GOAL DIMENSIONS

Near Term Goals (Fall ‘21 & 2021-22)

Longer Term Goals (2022-2025+)

PERSONAL

Short term:

Go to the gym a couple times a week, good for my health and gets me out of room

Continue conversations with people and work on social skills, ask questions and listen to answers.

Long term:

I would like to keep up with myself and try to take the best care of myself that I can. I think that it’s important to prioritize yourself.

Form strong relationships with people because it is important to stay friendly and social.

EXTRACURRICULAR

Short term:

Try something new, I did do that, currently I am on an intramural ultimate frisbee team with a few of my friends which is something I would not have expected myself to do.

Try to do something I don’t usually do everyday, liberal arts is big on freedom and even though this is an extracurricular goal I still have the freedom to branch out and try new things.

Long term:

Have a job that I like and enjoy, despite people thinking that students in liberal arts courses will have a harder time finding jobs. (untrue!)

Maybe a long term extracurricular goal could be to have some solid hobbies, maybe different ones then I have now but something that keeps me happy and interested.

ACADEMIC

Short term:

Pay attention in class so that I can actually retain and try to enjoy what I’m learning, apparently the skills from the classes I’m taking continue to benefit me so why not.

I would like to work on my writing, I like my English class so far so I want to keep trying with that.

Long term:

I hope to have picked classes or subjects that interest me and will be able to be beneficial to me in the future. As an undecided major I have a lot options and the ability to explore a lot of different courses.

Have done the schooling that I feel necessary for myself and be happy with the academic choices that I have made along the years.

Some of these goals were easier to come up with than others. The short term goals were pretty easy to come up with because I am aware of what I currently want to improve or change, and some of them I have already started doing. The long term goals were harder to think of because I am not sure what’s going to be going on with me a week from now let alone in 4+ years. I did come up with some though I’m just not sure how good they are.
