In the Core Handbook it says that “students will develop foundational knowledge and critical thinking skills that are necessary for understanding and assuming their roles in natural, social, humanistic and other environments.” I take english comp and one of things they talked about was how the skills learned in the class will be able to be used in other classes. This is similar to the main goal I first mentioned about teaching students concepts that they can use in lots of different environments. Although not surprisingly most of the classes have that in common, talking about educating students with skills that will help them in the future which is very beneficial for the student.
